I did this piece a couple semesters ago, and I am thinking of continuing it with several more roses in tons of more colors. Any suggestions on what colors?
During my Senior year in high school, I went through a phase of drawing anatomical anatomy drawings.
This was done in acrylic paint.

This one was scratch art.

This piece was done in colored pencil.

The project I was faced with my senior year was to pick my favorite artist and to create several works based off of their work. I chose Alex Grey for my artist. He is otherwise known not only for his interesting surrealist and portrayal of the human anatomy, but he also did a lot of the album art work for the band TOOL.

If you would like to check out Alex Grey's artwork, click on his name in the paragraph above. Also, if you are interested in checking out the band TOOL click on their name in the paragraph above.

If you decide to check out either, which of their music and artwork is your favorite and why?

During my last trip to Colorado, I went hiking with my family and came across a pack of beautiful deer and a gorgeous mountain rang shot.

I painted these two pieces for my parents this past Christmas for them to keep on their desk at work and hopefully help brighten their day.

This is a design I just recently did. I used colored pencil on mat board. What does this design make you think of upon first glance?
I did this drawing a last summer in 2012. Every artist has to go through their very first nude drawing, this was mine.
I did this acrylic painting based off of the work of my mothers favorite painter Claude Monet for her birthday.
Hello fellow bloggers, artists, and friends,
This blog was created to share my love of art as well as show my artwork I have finished or am currently working on. I hope to receive comments, critiques, or advice on the artwork I post. Any suggestions or helpful remarks on future things I should finish are most certainly welcome as well. I would also like to share my artwork with the world to maybe even inspire other artists to keep doing what they are doing and to also share my favorite artists work.

A bit more background on this blog and me; my name is Brittny (not Jade),my favorite color is green, and my favorite stone is Jade; because of these factors I incorporate a lot of the color green into my work. So I suppose the title of my blog is literal then (Thoughts in Jade) when it comes to some of my works subject matter. I like to draw and paint a lot of surrealist things, but I try to cover a wide variety of subjects to keep things interesting. As I said previously, I am very open to constructive criticism so please feel free to speak your mind and let me know how my art makes you feel and if you think I could have added or done something better let me know. As an aspiring artist the best help comes from fellow aspiring artists.

If you would like to follow my artwork further, I have a Facebook page for my artwork as well. To visit my page click on my name below:
